Welcome to Life in Scale! I’m Mike Hollimon, and I’ve been building and collecting diecast models since 1987.
I was born and raised in Georgia, where my love for cars started early. My father was Ford Blue through and through, and that influence stuck with me, especially when it comes to the Mustang. Growing up in Ringgold, I was fascinated by Sheriff J.D. Stewart’s Trans Ams and later the Georgia State Patrol’s SSP Mustangs. Those cars didn’t just stand out, they stuck with me, and they continue to influence my work today.
What started as a hobby has turned into a lifelong passion. I take pride in building high-quality replicas using the best materials and techniques available. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to connect with some incredible people in this space. From fellow builders to photographers, the relationships built through this hobby have pushed me to continue improving and refining my craft.
Today, I live in Demorest, Georgia, where I balance my passion for modeling with my professional career. I serve as a Facilities Director, and while it may seem like a different world, the same attention to detail and discipline carries over into everything I do.
Outside of work and modeling, I umpire high school baseball, bringing that same focus and consistency to the field. I’m also fortunate to have a supportive wife and four children who encourage me every step of the way.
Life in Scale is more than a collection. It’s a reflection of where I started, what I’ve built, and the people who have been part of that journey.
Thank you for being a part of it.
I hope you enjoy the page!
